Volunteering is a wonderful way to strengthen The Cove community, support your child's education, get to know other parents and have fun. Broad community involvement creates a positive educational environment at The Cove. There are many ways to get involved. You can assist teachers in the classroom, serve hot lunch, chaperone or help organize an event. There are also a variety of opportunities available within the The Cove PTO and The SPARK foundation. Whatever your interest or schedule allows, there is a way for you to make a difference at The Cove School.

Another important way to get involved as a parent is to share your perspective through the Cove Parent Voices Questionnaires which are sent out electronically a few times a year. Parent voices and participation strengthen The Cove community and support our culture of continual improvement.

Thank you for your interest, participation and support of The Cove School!

    Volunteer Expectations

Thank you for your interest in volunteering at The Cove School. As a helper and guest, you are a valuable asset in assisting students to become independent learners.

Your role, when volunteering, is to support the teacher and the students. Please follow the teacher’s direction, maintain attention towards the task at hand, support students doing the work themselves and use encouragement and a positive attitude to contribute to a healthy learning environment.

Any discipline issues should be brought to the attention of the teacher. And remember, do not discuss any information you learn about an individual student’s academic or social behavior outside of the classroom. Confidentiality helps maintain a culture of trust and learning in the classroom. And please sign-in and out at the front office before volunteering to get a guest pass.

Thank you again for your support!
